Do We Offer Jewelry Repairs?

Yes, we do. More importantly, we’re a resource for how to take care of your jewelry repair and how to wear it for best results. 

While we do not offer repair services on-site, we have worked with the same Master craftsmen and artisans for over 15 years and we trust their skills! We also trust their judgment. 

They will tell us when a repair should NOT be done as the piece is simply too worn to be restored without significant expense. 

Sometimes treasured pieces that are broken shouldn’t or can’t be fixed, but instead, treasured like you would a piece of fine art or a memento from someone special. Just because a treasure should no longer be worn, it isn’t necessarily destined for a jewelry box drawer! 

Jewelry repair is an artform, and every treasure trusted to us for repair is as important as the brand new jewelry we sell. We would argue, even more important because of the sentimental value it holds.

We offer custom design services to re-purpose the gemstones from that piece of jewelry to make it into a new treasure you can wear everyday.  

 

 

Gem Identification and Appraisal Services

 
 
Susan’s role as both a GIA Graduate Gemologist and AGS Titleholder is to first provide education for clients so they can learn about the gems they are interested in, and the various natural and lab grown options available to them.
  
 
As part of our commitment to education, gem identification services are free of charge for our clients, however it is a scientific process that requires examination and testing with the proper gemologic instruments, and should not be done casually. It takes time, careful consideration and often research. Therefore, we ask that you make an appointment so there is not only time for identification and testing, but for education about your gem, best ways to wear it, and how to take care of it.
  
 
We do offer appraisal services, but it is strictly by appointment only and requires an initial consult to discuss the Scope of Work. There are many misperceptions about what an appraisal is and what it can be used for, and we’re here to help you determine if a true appraisal is what you need – because there are fees for this service due to the time that is involved.
  
 
Jewelry appraisal, like gem identification, is a specialty service, and requires careful examination and often gemologic testing, measurements, full and complete descriptions of the item being appraised, photography and an extensive written report. Value is assigned after research and market comparisons as appropriate to the stated purpose of the appraisal. As a
